Focus Modules and Work Experience
From September 2018 Beyond started running the Focus Stand-alone modules designed for learners aged 19 plus with additional needs. We are registered with ASDAN and our centre is based within The Town Hall in Newbury, Berkshire.
The course is led by qualified teachers during term time, 3 days a week, typically a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
The programme comprises of up to 12 modules that can be undertaken separately and built into a profile of achievement. For each module, learner’s complete activities and gather evidence to demonstrate their progress and skill development in a particular area.
At Beyond we run the following Focus Stand-alone modules for young people aged from 19 years plus over the course of 5 years.
In Year 1 we do Getting Started then Numeracy and Communication Introduction,
Year 2: Communication Progression and Money,
Year 3: Numeracy Progression and Using Leisure time,
Year 4: Horticulture and Year 5: Transport.
Alongside the ASDAN Focus modules the young adults have work experience, take part in community enterprise projects and work on an Employability Programme which we will be changing in September 2020 to WorkRight.
